This summer VBCN received two handcrafted picnic tables constructed by a few families at Life Center Church. When dropping off the tables, House Manager Amy Carlson was fortunate to meet the families who had a hand in building these tables. In speaking with a group of parents Amy learned that one of the children that assisted with the construction of the tables, Timmy was a child that stayed at Vanessa Behan as a toddler. He was eventually adopted by his now parents and wanted to give back to our organization.
Amy had an excellent reminder to all of our staff and volunteers, “It is so great to see the children of yesterday, come back today and know that they are doing something positive for a resource that was there for them when they were babies and needed a safe place. Look at the faces of these kiddo’s around you right now, you may see them again when they are older, doing amazing things to give back.”
