"Heart to Heart" quarterly newsletter

"Heart to Heart" is a 12 to 16-page trianual publication that includes VBCN-related news, articles about keeping kids safe, parenting advice, recognition of our supporters, a calendar of events, and a donation envelope.  "Heart to Heart" is mailed to approximately 12,000 Nursery supporters three times per year.

"Vanessa’s Promise" Benefit Luncheon:

VBCN's Annual Benefit Luncheon brings together approximately 800 guests for a one hour high impact program to learn about the history and mission of the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, and provides an opportunity for guests to offer financial and volunteer support.

Annual Awards & Recognition Dinner

The Annual Dinner is an event that brings together and honors around 300 of the Crisis Nursery’s supporters, friends, staff and volunteers. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, the Nursery is able to have a major impact on our local children, their families and our entire community.

The Pumpkin Ball

The Pumpkin Ball is a black tie gala fund-raiser that supports two of Spokane's most prestigious children's organizations: the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.  The evening includes dinner, dancing, and a pumpkin-carving competition among teams of local doctors, CEOs and celebrities. It's one of Spokane's premiere events.

Santa Express

Santa Express is a special holiday store where children between the ages of 4-12 can purchase holiday gifts for friends and family. All gifts in the store are under $8. Children shop with the help of volunteer elves, while their parents can either wait or shop in the front of the store at the Vanessa's Village Store. The kids wrap and take their gifts, which they give to family and friends during the holiday season. Santa Express is a wonderful holiday tradition, and offers an opportunity to, not only support the Nursery, but to teach children the lesson of giving to those in need.
