11th annual Burgers With A Heart® event raises $17,905 to support Crisis Nursery
Burgers With A Heart®, the eleventh annual fundraiser sponsored by Red Robin Gourmet Burgers®, raised $17,905 for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery. The funds raised will provide nearly 3,400 hours of safety and care to children in the Spokane area.
During the two-week fundraiser, January 31 to February 13, Red Robin® restaurants in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene donated 50 cents from every gourmet burger sold. Specially-designed paper hearts were available for guests to purchase for $1 as an additional donation to Vanessa Behan.
Local high school students also participated in Burgers With A Heart® through the annual “Spirit with a Heart” competition. The competition challenged high schools to raise the most money for the Crisis Nursery through the sale of the paper hearts, both at the restaurant and on-site at their school. Freeman High School won the competition for the sixth year in a row by raising $2,308 for our children. Vanessa Behan presented Freeman students with the “Spirit with a Heart” trophy that will be proudly displayed at Freeman High School, its home since 2006. Freeman High School has raised $10,636 for our children since becoming involved in “Spirit with a Heart” in 2005.
We extend our warmest thanks to all those who volunteered for this event, and to those who dined at Red Robin during the promotion. We are especially grateful to the entire Red Robin Gourmet Burgers® team for continuing to carry on Burgers with A Heart® with great support and enthusiasm.
