Volunteers and supporters honored at 26th Annual Awards Dinner
The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery’s 22nd Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner was held at The Lincoln Center on January 22nd. Throughout the evening Crisis Nursery staff shared the many highlights of our 2012 year, including providing close to 75,000 hours of care to a record 4,304 little ones. In addition, more than fifty amazing Crisis Nursery supporters were recognized for their dedication, talent, kindness, and support of the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery during 2012.
Crisis Nursery Executive Director Amy Knapton thanked all Crisis Nursery supporters in attendance for their past year of dedication to the children and families the Nursery serves. “As a stakeholder in our work, I hope you are as proud as I am of the work that was accomplished this past year! A record 4,304 children found comfort, safety and love at the Nursery. We gave out over 163,000 basic needs items such as diapers, wipes and cans of formula; and our follow-up program connected with over 500 families to provide extended services, resources and support! It is clear that it takes many hands to achieve successes like this. And again, without the volunteers, in-kind donations, and financial support, none of this would have been possible.”
If you were not in attendance for this wonderful event, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who helped make 2012 a success and with your help, look forward to expanding our reach to care for 5,000 children in 2013.
Special Thanks! We also extend our special thanks to Longhorn Barbecue & Black Tie Catering, Food Services of America, Desserts by Sara, and Sweet Swiss Confections, for donating and catering the wonderful meal for our guests. Also, a special thank you to Annie Kurtz Photography, Gonzaga University Knights & Setons and One Church Life Group for helping to make the event a great success!
